McCormick Place HQ Hotel Streetscape

The Prairie Avenue shared street, connecting the Wintrust Arena, Marriott Marquis Hotel and Prairie District’s Park, is only the second shared street in all of Chicago. It serves as an essential pedestrian-driven amenity to the entire McCormick Place development.
In addition to the raw beauty of this exterior work of art, featured within the project are multiple base systems: bituminous, sand, and permeable. Larger areas were built on a concrete base, with either a bituminous or sand setting bed, each pitched to a permeable area, solely designed to remove the water.
